It’s frustrating when you’ve taken a cool action-packed screenshot on steam or a scenic view but then don’t know where to find that screenshot. Fortunately, finding your screenshots is very easy and there are two methods to do this. You can view your screenshots from each game individually or see every screenshot you’ve ever taken. This can be handy when posting a photo on your steam forum or for just generally trying to find a specific screenshot for a game you took 3 years ago. So where are the steam screenshots saved?
Steam screenshots – Game Specific
There are two methods to see screenshots per a specific game. The quickest method is to into your Steam library, click on the game, for example, Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) and on the right-hand side of your game, there will be an option for screenshots and the one’s you’ve taken for the game.
The second method is to click the “View” tab at the top of the application and on the menu, there will be an option for “Screenshots”. This will allow you to select each game individually and view the screenshots through steam. What if you want to save the screenshots for desktop wallpaper or to send them to someone on Facebook? Just follow the next step as we explain method 2 which will allow this.
Steam screenshots – Computer Saved
Continuing from the second method above, you can click on “Show on Disk” which will open up the steam library saved on your computer and again it will contain all the game-specific screenshots.
The alternative method is to go to your file icon on your computer and navigate to the steam directory on your computer. This normally looks like this: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata” within this folder all your saved screenshots will be contained.
You should now be able to view and see where your screenshots are saved on steam.
